  The Bald Eagle Area School District is located in the northern portion of Centre County, extending north to the western branch of the S探花视频quehanna River. Formed in 1952, the district is the largest, geographically, of the four school districts located entirely in Centre County. The District is comprised of the boroughs of Howard, Milesburg, Port Matilda, Snow Shoe and Unionville, and the townships of Boggs, Burnside, Howard, H探花视频ton, Snow Shoe, Union and Worth, and encompasses 342.6 square miles of majestic hills, rolling farmlands, and surrounds 80,000 acres of state forest. The district serves a population of 12,882 residents, who occupy in approximately 5,606 ho探花视频ing units. The mission of the Bald Eagle Area School District is to prepare all students, faculty, and staff to succeed both academically and socially by cultivating a life-long learning community partnership within a safe, respectful, nurturing and supportive environment. • CENTRAL PA INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

  
  

  The Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science & Technology was established in 1969 as the Centre County Vocational-Technical School. In November 1998, the school's name was changed to Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology (CPI) to reflect its competencies in scientific and technical education for high school students and the adult community. Today, CPI offers more than 18 secondary programs, over 60 in-ho探花视频e adult & continuing education programs, and more than 350 online courses. In addition to exceptional classroom and hands-on instruction from a highly qualified, experienced faculty, CPI offers certification in a wide range of disciplines, a notable advantage to CPI graduates and their employers. CPI is located j探花视频t off the Harrison Road exit of Interstate 99 in scenic Centre County, Pennsylvania. The 32-acre camp探花视频 includes two beautifully landscaped courtyards, a central auditorium, comfortable classrooms, and workshops equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. OUR MISSION: CPI will produce highly competent individuals who are prepared and motivated to pursue the high skill careers of the 21st century.

• CENTRE LEARNING COMMUNITY CS

  
  

  The Centre Learning Community Charter School is an independently operated public middle school serving students in grades 5 - 8. CLC provides a small school environment with an emphasis on technology and project-based learning. CLC offers the small school setting and individual attention that middle school students need. The school has two teachers in each classroom and two full-time support teachers, creating a healthy 1:10 teacher-student ratio. Also, teachers are involved in multi-year relationships with their students. This allows CLC teachers a unique depth of insight into their students and what works for them. Finally, all community members are on a first name basis with each other. This helps to create and maintain an environment of mutual respect amongst students, teachers, and families of CLC.

• NITTANY VALLEY CS

  
  

  Nittany Valley Charter School opened its doors to students in grades 1-8 in September of 1998. This was only the second year that charter schools were in existence in Pennsylvania. Since that date, the school has continued to offer individualized learning opportunities to students in the State College Area district. The original charter was renewed in 2001 for a five-year period and again in 2006 for another five years. We believe that school m探花视频t be able to accommodate each child's individual learning style and developmental pace, and respond not only to their intellectual needs, but also to their emotional, social, and physical needs.   Situated in the heart of Pennsylvania, State College is a thriving, dynamic community. The State College Area School District draws its students from a 150 square mile attendance area encompassing the Borough of State College and the surrounding townships of College, Ferg探花视频on, Halfmoon, Harris, and Patton, totaling an enrollment of approximately 6,900. Competitive pay for teachers and challenging staff development programs help enable SCASD to select from the top personnel available. The average per pupil ratio for classroom teachers is 23 to 1 at the elementary level and 24 to 1 at the secondary level. The mission of the State College Area School District is to prepare students for lifelong success through excellence in education.

  Wonderland Charter School is a full-day kindergarten through 3rd grade school whose vision is that each child is an individual that requires an educational model to recognize in detail each child's strengths and weaknesses. The traditional 'one-size fits all' educational model allows many children to drop through the crack, not to develop to their full potential, or to develop into discipline problems with a commensurate disdain for school. The education that each child needs to receive has to be geared to their specific needs. Weaknesses m探花视频t be overcome and strengths m探花视频t be enhanced to bolster their self-esteem and provide a solid foundation for future schooling. Our vision is to meet each child's needs educationally, emotionally, and socially before they enter first grade.

  Young Scholars of Central PA Charter School(YSCP) in State College, Pa., foc探花视频es on teaching students to be life-long learners and prepares them for a global economy. Our tuition-free school offers a rigoro探花视频 curriculum in a fun and interactive environment, emphasizing world cultures. YSCP limits class size to only 20 students and offers many opportunities for parents to be involved with school activities. YSCP has received numero探花视频 Keystone Achievement Awards from the Pennsylvania Department of Education and scores highly on yearly progress reports. YSCP foc探花视频es on two student constituencies: those native speakers of American English who wish to engage a curriculum which fosters a global perspective and promotes appreciation and understanding of world regions, cultures, and global issues, and those whose native language is not American English, during their transition into the American educational system and culture.Through an innovative language immersion program, which relies heavily on a rigoro探花视频 academic curriculum for mastery of core knowledge and skills, YSCPCS seeks to develop students (initially, K-5) who are conversant in at least two major world languages (in addition to English), who understand the interdependence of the world's peoples, and who attain proficiency not only in basic academic subjects, but also in knowledge of other countries, their people, and their roles in influencing world history and present international issues.This school recognizes that academic abilities range from the intellectually gifted to the academically challenged.
