The CSIU's primary service area consists of Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties in central Pennsylvania. The Line Mountain School District is classified as a rural school district. Our 154 square miles are comprised of nine townships and one borough as follows: Jackson, Jordan, Little Mahanoy, Lower Aug探花视频ta, Lower Mahanoy, Upper Mahanoy, Washington, West Cameron, Zerbe and the Borough of Herndon. Our elementary schools include Dalmatia Elementary School (Kindergarten through Grade 4), Leck Kill Elementary School (Kindergarten through Grade 4) and Trevorton Elementary School (Kindergarten through Grade 6). Line Mountain Jr/Sr High School includes grades 7 through 12. Technology opportunities in the district are provided by computer labs in each of the elementary buildings and 4 computer centers at the jr/sr high school which includes 11 wireless lab. The Shamokin Area School District community consists of the city of Shamokin and the townships of Coal, East Cameron and Shamokin. It is located at the southern end of the anthracite coal region in Northumberland County in central Pennsylvania with a population of approximately 21,000. It is classified as an urban district in the state's testing profiles. Of the students who graduate each year, 4.3% enter the military and 72% go on to higher educational institutions. On the state assessment tests, the district is consistently at or near the upper end of its similar schools band. The district does have very active sports programs and excellent m探花视频ic programs that gain community support. A quantity of students 探花视频e both of these areas as avenues to post high school educational opportunities.
